George Calombaris, one of Australia's most well-known chefs, has partnered with Qatar Airways to create an in-flight dining menu based on Greek flavours and dishes.

This is the second time Qatar has collaborated with Calombaris, and they were delighted to once again work with him as it proved to be a successful last time, Qatar Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said.

"At Qatar Airways we are committed to offering our passengers the finest cuisine in the sky...We are excited to be able to bring Calombaris’ signature dishes to more Australian passengers this time around with our year-long partnership, and are certain his flair for creating dishes showcasing classic Greek flavours accompanied by fresh local produce will once again be a hit with our passengers," continued Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

Passengers travelling from Australia to Doha will be able to experience the new menu which includes Avgolemono (Greek lemon chicken soup), Bastourma (traditional air-dried beef topside) with onions and potato, Fraser Island crab with lemon marmalade and Tabbouleh, and Moussaka.

The Master Chef judge said it was a privilege to work with a brand committed to excellence, and he looks "forward to continuously surprising and delighting passengers onboard with these delicious Greek-inspired dishes."

These new options will be available from Saturday on Doha-bound flights from Perth, Sydney and Adelaide, and Melbourne from the 1st of October.

For now, the Greek-inspired signature dishes will only be available to those travelling first or business class, but economy will also get to taste Calombaris' high in the sky menu by the first quarter of 2019.
